The National Institute of open schooling (NIOS) formerly known as National Open School(NOS) was established in November 1989 as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National policy on education 1986 by the ministry of education (MoE), Government of India. NIOS is providing a number of vocational, Life enrichment and community oriented courses besides general and Academic courses at Secondary(X) and Senior Secondary Level(XII. It also offers Elementary level courses through its Open Basic Education Programmes (OBE). Government of India through a gazette notification vested NIOS with the authority to examine and certify learners registered with up to per degree level courses whether academic, or Vocational.
- The national Institute of open schooling (NIOS) provides opportunities to interested learners by making available the courses.
- NIOS provides flexibility in the choice of subjects/courses, pace of learning, and transfer of credits (TOC) from CBSE.
- A Learner is extended as many as nine(9) chances to appear in public examinations spread over a period of five years.
- The learning strategies include : learning through printed self instructional material, audio and video programmes, participating in personal contact programme (PCP) and Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA).
DIVYA SHANTHI HIGH SCHOOL(DSHS) (AI -080010) Accredited Institute, DSHS Study centre will provide the following services for the student who has selected as a study centre.
- DSHS is authorized to open an online registration counter to facilitate learners to take up online admission.
- DSHS will help learners in pre-admission counseling, choice of course, medium of instruction, transfer of credit, and other features of NIOS.
- Conduct Personal Contact Programmes (PCP) as per NIOs norms for theory and practical classes as prescribed by NIOS.
- Evaluation of Assignments by Tutors.
- Counseling to solve learner’s problems/ queries related to the course.
- Informing the dates of payment of fees, examination data sheet, examination centre and other important information’s.
- For obtaining a pass certificate at the Secondary level, a learner is required to pass in minimum five subjects including one or maximum two languages.
- DSHS provide regular coaching classes to the students to provide extra attention and individual time to each student and thus they can enrich the learning experience.
Admission Requirements for Secondary course ( Std –X )
- Age : Above 14years.
- Support documents for date of birth
- Birth Certificate
- Passport issued by Government of India.
- Transfer Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
- Proof of Residence
- Ration Card
- Aadhaar Card
- Electricity/Water/Telephone Bill
- Rental Agreement
- Passport Size Photo
- Student Signature.
- If learner belonging to SC/ST , Ex-Serviceman, Person with Disabilities – A certificate from Government hospital and not from a private nursing home.
- Fees
NOTE:
As far as the certificates issued by NIOS are concerned, these are accepted for higher education, Govt. jobs and all other purposes. The certificates issued by NIOS are accepted by all National/State Boards and Universities. However, in certain cases, various Boards/Universities have fixed eligibility criteria based on their specific requirements. Hence, the learners seeking admission in NIOS must go through the latest eligibility criteria of concerned/desired Boards/Universities.
